Real BIR Curry Recipes.
Here at Indian Restaurant Recipes, we provide BIR curry recipes (BIR = British Indian restaurant) and cooking methods that match exactly the way they are prepared and cooked within our restaurants and takeaway outlets. Our intention therefore is to provide you with the information to replicate each dish exactly as we do but without the need to produce the quantities we make.
If you want to re-create what you buy from your local restaurant or takeaway, then simply follow our BIR curry recipes along with the cooking methods provided.
There will of course be taste differences as differing restaurants/takeaways use their own mixed powder recipes and different levels of chilli powder.
BIR Style Recipes.
There are many websites out there that provide BIR-style recipes. These are recipes that are provided, often styled by watching videos of dishes being cooked or indeed visiting kitchens of restaurants and takeaways but, can easily miss out some of the vital components/ ingredients of the dishes such as the preparation dishes as these are already made beforehand. They often produce very acceptable results but not always accurate BIR preparation, methods and results.
Home Cooked.
You then get home-cooked recipes that are completely different to BIR recipes. Neither are better but should never be compared together as the desired and produced results are so different.
